Acquiring Applications

Applications for Macs can be installed from the Mac Self-Service or the Apple AppStore.

Some licensed software (eg engineering or Mathematical packages) are only available for registered users.

AppStore Apps

CERN users can buy apps from the AppStore using the procedure described here.

Obsolete Software

Users must remove from their Macs any software that is not supported any more by its vendor, or not licensed any more to CERN. The Mac Self-Service provides uninstallers for some obsolete applications.

Licence Obligations

Software is licenced to CERN users under conditions that vary depending on the software vendor. CERN users are required to comply with the licence agreements.

Please keep in mind that you have to remove all licensed software from your Mac when your association with CERN ends or when you pass on your Mac to somebody else.
