What is Microsoft Visio for the web?

MS Visio for the web is the free online version of the MS Visio Plan 2 (desktop version). This web app in your Microsoft 365 subscription gives you a powerful tool for your essential drawing needs.

MS Visio for the web is available for free for anybody (*) who has a OneDrive license.

(*) including Windows, Mac and Linux users

How to request a OneDrive License?

If you don't have a OneDrive license, please request one using the following form: Request OneDrive Licence. and select OneDrive from the list of proposed applications.

How to access Visio for the web?

Open Visio for the web and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in (with your work or school account).

Can I use Visio for the web on a Mac?

Yes, you can use Visio for the web to view, create, and edit Visio files in the Safari or Chrome browser on your Mac. There’s nothing to install.

Which browsers work with Visio for the web?

Use the most recent versions of the following browsers.

  • Windows 10/11: Edge, Firefox, or Chrome
  • MacOS: Edge, Safari 10 and higher, or Chrome
  • Linux: Edge, Firefox or Chrome on Linux, but some features may not be available.

What you can do with Visio for the web ?

With MS Visio for the web, you can view, create, and edit a diagram (*) in the same way as other Office Online documents (docx/Word, xlsx/Excel, pptx/Powerpoint). You can also view other types of diagrams that can't be created in Visio for the web.

(*) block diagrams, flowcharts and cross-functional flowcharts, UML diagrams, SDL diagrams, Azure diagrams, network diagrams, and more.
